Louis Tomlinson is 23 years old and one of the most famous singers in the world. He loves his fans and his career, but he has a major secret: he has epilepsy. Because his manager, Simon, doesn't want to lose money or deal with the public demanding Louis work less, he forces Louis to keep his condition quiet. Louis relies on his two best friends-Niall and Zayn-to help hide his seizures when they happen on stage or during rehearsals.
The situation becomes dangerous during a concert when Louis feels a seizure coming on. He barely makes it off stage in time to collapse in private. Realizing that Louis is being overworked, Liam-who works for management but is the only person in the office Louis likes-decides to step in. He knows Louis needs 24/7 medical supervision, so he reaches out to his step-brother, Harry Styles.
Harry is 28 years old and was once a dedicated professional in the medical field. However, he recently quit after experiencing extreme burnout. When Liam offers him the job as Louis' bodyguard, Harry is hesitant to get back into a medical role, but he eventually agrees to take the position. While the public thinks Harry is there to protect Louis from crazy fans, his real job is to make sure Louis takes his medicine, gets enough sleep, and stays safe during and after seizures.
From the moment they meet, it is a disaster. Louis is stubborn, and sees Harry as a babysitter. He treats Harry with coldness, tries to dodge his medical checks, and goes out of his way to be difficult. Harry, still dealing with his own burnout, has very little patience for a spoiled pop star who won't take his health seriously. They clash constantly, with Harry demanding rest and Louis demanding to be left alone.
The tension only grows. Harry remains professional and stays calm during Louis' medical emergencies, but Louis continues to push him away.
With Simon's demands getting worse and Louis' health becoming more fragile, the two are forced to spend every second together.
