Back in the prehistoric eras, dinosaurs ruled the Earth. Three Clans that inhabit a large island are forced to live under constant pressure, always on the run from hungry dinosaurs and never staying in the same area for too long. While there is lots of tension, loyalty runs deep in each Clan, knowing they all have to work with one another to survive and thrive if they wish to live in a dangerous world.

A few nights before the Gathering, a cat vanishes, no trace of them or their potential murderer found. Caution was advised, but no cat worried their tails off. But when three more murders followed after the first one only a couple days later, cats began to panic. No one could blame them; it was so unexpected. StarClan falls silent, leaving the Clans to marinate in their rising chaos. [Cover by me]

A moon after Minnowpaw failed to return from her journey to Highstones, RiverClan has accepted that she is dead. Life is continuing in the forest as the Clans prepare for leaf-bare, but unknown threats begin to loom on the horizon. Between a mysterious omen and border troubles, no one knows what will happen next. In the midst of it all, newly named warrior Redblaze struggles in the wake of Minnowpaw's curse. He still mourns for Flamepelt, and he blames Minnowpaw for the deaths that plagued his Clan. As the days drag on, the wedge between Redblaze and his Clanmates grows deeper, and it starts to seem like he is beyond help. Will he be able to bounce back from his darkness, or will it consume and destroy him?

After spending all of her apprenticeship attempting to improve her abilities, she is still not any better, and she is frustrated by how focused her Clanmates are on her minimal hunting skills. She feels that she was made for greater things, and that she would be excellent on the battlefield. She spends a lot of her time dreaming that WindClan would face some sort of adversity, so that she can prove to her Clanmates she's not entirely useless. But when Burnetpaw's wishes come true, she realizes that hardships do not result in glory. They result in death, and unveil moons of deception.

Thornstar was one of the most violent cats to live amongst the Clans, his story is one of abuse, fear and terror. Dawnkit is born into SunClan with a bright future, along with her littermates she wants nothing more than to serve her Clan. However, tragedy strikes at a young age when her sister, Willowkit dies. Dawnkit makes a promise to her dying sister to become leader of SunClan, no matter what but as she grows she learns that becoming leader isn't easy, and it may not be what she wants. As a warrior, she learns that a dangerous foe is threatening her Clan, and she realizes she must do everything she can to protect the Clan she loves.

Both warriors must face their nightmares and seek help from friends, family and the stars in hopes of finally bringing down these dark foes

In SunClan, Falconheart finds himself slipping back into a normal warrior life after the death of Ashblaze and Honeyfrost learns of the destiny she shares with her brother, Nightheart and Blackstorm, the cat she loves. Nightheart leaves her training in the Dark Forest behind, but Blackstorm struggles to find his own place within the Clan and it's not until he is tested by death itself that he finally learns where he belongs.

However, their new lives are far from perfect. Honeyfrost and Blackstorm struggle with their emotions for each other along with their loyalties and duties to their Clans. As they get older, they know that soon the two of them must make a choice, whether they follow their hearts or their destinies Nightheart and Falconheart begin to question their shadowy mentors. Falconheart wonders if what he is doing is right, and fears that he may cause the death of another cat. Nightheart begins to dedicate herself more and more to her Clan, and the Dark Forest doesn't approve. Peace between the Clans can't last forever, and everyone is beginning to worry of when a battle, or even a war will break out.
