Life is peaceful on Erid, until Eridian astrophysicists discover a new solar system. It parallels Earth, except for its vast emptyness. Likely another victim of astrophage, except for its wandering moons full of what could only be observed as blood... Adrian wanders out as lead biologist to study these "blood moons" and discover what may be alien life similar to Earth's. The story of two Earthlings, far from home, taking care of one another through the guilt of their sacrifices.

Halfway through Grace and Rocky's journey to Erid, they get a radio transmission calling for help. Something Grace didn't even know was possible. Despite his internal monologue, Grace makes the decision to help.
