Ivy Reynolds has her life mapped out-college, future career, and a boyfriend she's been with long enough to feel safe. Then Will Smith walks into her world stealing her coffee, flashing a goofy smile, and somehow making her forget the rules she's always followed. He doesn't know she has a boyfriend. She doesn't know he's an NHL player. What starts as accidental encounters and awkward flirting slowly becomes something neither of them expected. But some mistakes are harder to walk away from than others...

Olivia Bennett knows the rules of sports journalism - never get too close to the players you cover. As a reporter for the San Jose Sharks, she's built her career on professionalism. Too bad the internet is convinced she's secretly dating rookie star Macklin Celebrini. For two years, their interviews, inside jokes, and viral moments have had fans rooting for them. In reality, they're just friends. At least... that's what they keep telling everyone.

After a traumatic incident forces Avery Quinn to leave her job at a major airline, she takes a position with a private charter company hoping for something simple: quiet, routine, and a chance to feel safe again. She doesn't know anything about hockey, and she definitely doesn't expect to become a familiar face aboard the Chicago Blackhawks team plane. But somewhere between late-night flights and quiet conversations at 30,000 feet, Avery and Connor Bedard slowly become each other's safest place-right before the rest of the world starts paying attention.
