Follow Sonic the Hedgehog as he joins a resistance force to take back the planet, after Dr. Eggman's Eggman Empire took over 99% of it with the help of Eggman's newest assistant; Starline, with his twisted ideals of caring for one's health, and Eggman's newest lackey; Infinite, through his usage of the Phantom Ruby. Along the way, three new resistance members learn the meaning of courage and unity.

When Chloe, Stella' pet dog, accidentally ends up freeing these very hostile creatures from the doctor's control, he and his friends must team up with Steele's long-lost father; Zavok and his pack; the Deadly Six, and their long-time nemesis; Eggman, to stop Drake and the reincarnated Venomous Five, who have taken over the Lost Hex with Drake as its Baron and Dr. Eggman's Badnik army and are using his Extractor to siphon all of the planet's life and make themselves invincible with it. Now everyone must work together to take back Zavok's rightful rule and help others embrace their true selves before its too late.

While spending time with his untied family, Steele suddenly transforms into a large creature and reveals he is not born a bandicoot at all! When Eggman starts taking Animals and Drake reveals he mutated himself into a Black Arm mixed with the creature Steele was born as, Sonic and his friends must search for answers by looking into Steele's roots.

While Sonic deals with a time-destroying monster, Team Midnight; consisting of Shadow, Stella, Chloe, Blair and Tierno, come together once again when their old nemesis, Black Doom, remerges and threatens to take over the world, Team Midnight must journey into Shadow's own past, confront his painful memories, face familiar foes and unlock new powers to save their world and prove why Shadow is known as the Ultimate Life Form. All the while meeting new friends and redeeming enemies.

When Eggman creates a space amusement park as a ploy to capture innocent yet powerful aliens called Wisps in order use their powers to rule the world, Sonic, Tails and Stella must work with the aliens to foil Eggman's plan.

Following a failed attempt by Sonic to defeat Dr. Eggman in space, Eggman shatters the world with the power of the Chaos Emeralds, unleashing two earthbound entities known as Light and Dark Gaia and infusing Sonic with a state called 'the Werehog' at night. Now Sonic must navigate various continents while accompanied by Light Gaia, nicknamed "Chip", to restore the Chaos Emeralds' power and repair the planet.

Sonic discovers a legend regarding an artifact known as the "Ark of the Cosmos", an item that can take matter and use it to control gravity. However, the Babylon Rogues, Sonic's well-known rivals, are also after the legendary artifact. This sets off a war over who gets the artifact, now leading them to settle their dispute by having an Extreme Gear competition.
