Things start to change when another ranch hand is hired: Ennis Del Mar. His circumstances are quite different. Ennis is dropped off at the ranch by his father in the hopes that the job could "straighten him out." Ennis had recently come out as gay to his girlfriend, who had then spilled the beans to his dad. Brokeback Mountain AU (Written April 2013, Edited 2021) Sequel to School Activities Starting college, Jack and Ennis seem settled in their new relationship. But Ennis still seems hesitant about being open in public about it. Jack still intends to make them work out, but things start to change when they spend their Christmas vacation apart. Their relationship is tried, but before anything can be fixed, Jack moves to Kentucky to help his family. Jack doesn't return to college and Ennis is left on his own. After college graduation, Ennis gets a letter from his ex-girlfriend, Alma Beers. She wants to reconnect so he can be around for their daughter. Seemingly out of his control, Ennis finds himself rekindling the romance between him and Alma. The fear of losing his daughter keeps Ennis in Alma's bed. Then things are turned upside down when Jack shows back up after nearly five years.

Brokeback Mountain AU (Written back in March 2013, Edited in 2021) Jack Twist is part of the popular group at school: the football team. They run the biggest game in the school: making fun of the nerds, the shut-ins, and anyone who's not in their "cool group." And even though Jack's not in the team, his smarts and charm help him fit in. Especially since his childhood best friend, Adam, is part of the team. The two are inseparable and get into the most trouble. And the biggest trouble is just around the corner when Adam proposes a new game for Jack: pretend to become friends with someone unpopular and then humiliate them in front of the whole school. The stakes are raised even higher when the game turns into a bet. Adam bets that Jack can't get a certain shut-in to believe Jack's his friend. Jack accepts, but never expected what this bet would lead to.

Jack & Ennis haven't seen each other in 4 years. Finally establishing contact there are a couple moments during their reunion that should be told.

I watched the movie and cried so hard that I wanted at least to read about a happy end. I searched for some time but did not find a fic which would have been good enough. So i decided to try to write one myself. TW: su1c1de
