This story is about Diane Lockhart and Peter Florrick. Diane Lockhart: A named senior partner at the firm, she supports other female lawyers. She is liberal and is a champion of women's causes, thus having strong opinions on many issues, including an extreme dislike of guns and violence. She speaks fluent French and seems to have an active social life. Peter Florrick is the Governor of Illinois, former husband of Alicia Florrick, and a former Cook County State's Attorney. Peter has a high profile sex scandal cost him his job as State's Attorney and, briefly, his freedom, sending his former wife, Alicia back to the workforce as a junior associate at Stern, Lockhart & Gardner also known as Lockhart/Gardner & Associates. Until one day, Peter Florrick went to Lockhart/Gardner & Associates to look for a senior partner at the firm. Peter doesn't recall the name, but it says on the letterhead "Lockhart." So, he ask one of the receptionist to direct him to one of the senior partner with the last name "Lockhart."
