This is my take on the idea of a Varian spin-off series of Tangled: The Series/Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure. The AU was presented to Disney by storyboarders Kay Ritter and Anna Lencioni who took a liking to Varian's character and decided to create a story for him in his later years; detailing the adventures he might go on and the friends he makes along the way. I'll likely take a lot of inspiration from other fans too and I think that's what's great about vat7k, we all inspire each other with our ideas! :) This is probably gonna be a long one, hope you enjoy!! (aka "Alone?") I adopted this fanfic from @CartoonsAreAmazing. There's always a light at the end of the tunnel. Varian has been groomed and abused by Saporian Andrew since their jailbreak. After Princess Rapunzel and company return from their journey, they must defeat the evil separatists in order to save Corona and Varian. Soon after his father is freed from the amber, the young boy is taken into the care of Rapunzel and Eugene. The couple have come to view Varian as their own. They're determined to be whatever Varian needs as he heals from Andrew's abusive influence. But nothing ever comes easy for the little alchemist. A secret enlightens the child to a spectacular destiny. And a creeping evil is approaching, threatening to shroud Corona in eternal darkness and its eyes are unfortunately pointed at Varian. What will become of the teenage boy? Is he doomed to be swallowed in pain and loneliness forever? Or will the light be his greatest salvation? Varian, Rapunzel, Cassandra and Eugene were going on a trip to the dark kingdom to see Eugene's dad but run into a strange lady on the way who kidnaps Max, Owl, Pascal and Ruddiger. The only was to get them back is go though the most painful memories a person of the lady's choosing has. The lady chooses Varian.(This story takes place a year after the end of series, Cass just came back to spend time with her friends) Warnings: This story contains abuse, blood, self-harm, talk of suicide, violence. It's happily ever after in corona! Everyone has a good life. They are enjoing the peace. But what if... Remember the letter that Quirin wrote for Varian before he get incased in the amber? And when he got free, the letter get distroyed. He said that he only wanted to tell Varian, that he was proud of him. But what if... When he was writting it, he has this seriouse face and he was tring so hard to write it. And it was a full page with a small font. All of it to tell his son that he was proud of him? Maybe. That kind of Raw power had never been harnessed from a mortal soul before, then he broadcast his power all throughout Hell, just so everyone can witness his ability. Sinners started calling him the radio demon. As lazy as that is, many have speculated what unimaginable forces enabled him to rival our world most ancient and destructive evils." Varian gets sent to Hell because Rapunzel and Eugene were stupid and tried to someone a demon from Hell, but it backfired and sucked Varian into Hell. He rotted there for 8 months but it Hell it was more like 80 years. He's pissed. He wants revenge. He's mostly mad because he warned them that this will go south. Also, this book design will be different there will be a lot of flashbacks to how he lived in hell and how he got his power.

It all started with the trance. The trance that made the boy glassy eyed, trapped in his own mind. The trance that activated his power. And once it's revealed he's the moon drop villains will stop at nothing to get him in their clutches. (Hey this is my first story and please note this isn't going to follow the exact story. There are some major plot points in the show that I might change but please be aware this is just my fan fiction)

After the battle at Cassandra's Tower, Varian finds the broken shard of the Moonstone. But doesn't tell Rapunzel. What happens after Zhan Tiri is gone, but a shard of the moon remains? In Varian's hands no less? This takes place after the finally, but somehow Varian got hold of the Moonstone shard after that fight.
