Long ago a prophecy declared that the heir of Isildur would rise and take up his sword and lead the armies of men against the Dark Lord. His courage would be great and his strength would be mighty; but he would doubt himself, only being able to truly fulfill his purpose with the help from a powerful offspring of the Dark Lord who would overcome her darkness and radiate the light. This foretells the story of Athena. She must help him bear his destiny, for her fate would be the same as his. Their souls were connected, a power so great no one could separate or come between. They were destined to fall deep in love. ~• ✾ | ✾ •~ Aragorn x OC | A love story !! Disclaimer: This story is less about the tale of the Lord of the Rings, but more about the love story between Athena and Aragorn. It will loosely include the events of the movie while mostly focusing on the story of my OC !! ✧ STORY IS FINISHED AND COMPLETE ✧

When all that she loves is threatened, she must risk the position she has fought long and hard to earn, plunging herself into a conflict she never sought. As she learns of the rising darkness in far off corners of her world, she begins to realise that her fate may lead her beyond the familiar, and may entwine with the fates of others in ways she could never have foreseen. (LOTR - Haldir Fic) Aisling Hughes has her life figure out. She has a great job working with her cousins in their family-run hotel business in New York. And her friends in the small town of Oklahoma where she was born. Sure life has dealt her some pretty hard blows, but she's always thought herself strong and capable, willing to do what was needed to help her family and friends. That was until a freak spring storm blows up, sending an unexpected (and rather large) tornado her way. When she wakes up, Aisling finds herself in a land she doesn't recognize, surrounded by people and creatures that shouldn't exist on the cusp of a war that she'll never survive, even with all her 21st century knowledge. Feeling completely out of her element, Aisling must rely on the help of the ever serious and stoic Haldir, and the cryptic advice of Lady Galadriel, as they search for a wizard who can supposedly send her back home (or help her wake up - she's still not sure if this is all real). And then learns that perhaps it wasn't a journey to find her way home, but to find herself... and perhaps fall in love along the way...
