Tartaglia has long since accepted it: his presence shall always be viewed as an inconvenience, something to be tolerated in return for his usefulness. And he doesn't care; he is strong, capable of felling entire territories with his might alone. He doesn't need anybody else. And he definitely doesn't need to be wanted in return. Aka three times where Childe doesn't hear the words "I want you", plus the one time that he does.

Mithridatism, or the act of poisoning oneself in gradually increasing increments, is all in a day's work for a Fatui Harbinger. When Childe takes just a little more than he's supposed to, however, things don't go so well. But when he gets out of this, his immunity to the poisons will be stronger than ever, so it can't be that bad. And at least Zhongli's here to take care of him through it all.

emotionless Tartaglia x Zhongli who tries to help him express himself and get a life. Or, Tartaglia has been weighed down from the past since the beginning, Zhongli has to teach him how to feel again (and get a life!!). Also, a heads up, Childe isn't mute in this story. He just doesn't talk like that one quiet kid- There are spoilers in this fanfic btw. More specifically, the archon quest in Liyue. Aka the "Farewell, Archaic Lord" quest and "A/The new star approaches.

And maybe just maybe, we can both get some enjoyment from this. Also I apologize for any small grammar or spelling mistakes, I do have dyslexia so my writing may not be the best. But I'll correct mistakes when I can. I don't see myself as a good writer, but you know you have to start somewhere, right?
