"Remember this. Your father isn't coming. And neither is mercy." His grip tightened around her wrist until it bruised. She flinched, her hazel eyes filling with tears, yet she remained painfully quiet. Her lips parted as if she wanted to speak, but no sound came. Not because she had nothing to say but because the world had taught her that speaking only invited more pain. They called him the Shah family's protector. They never saw the man buried beneath the responsibility. Aymen Shah died the day everything became duty and survival. That day, when the Shah family broke apart. But what they didn't know is, all along, they lost what they still had. And somewhere along the way, the hero everyone admired became a man capable of being someone else's villain. Noor Malik was born carrying the sins of a monster. A girl who was supposed to be an angel, became the contrary. She wasn't guilty, yet she spent her entire life paying for sins that were never hers. Behind the walls of her own home, she learned that monsters don't hide beneath beds. He vowed to make her suffer for the blood she carried. She prayed he wouldn't become another nightmare she had to survive. Hatred was supposed to be simple... until it wasn't. Because the line between a hero and a villain is thinner than anyone dares to believe. And sometimes, the light you have been searching for has been trapped in darkness all along.
