I Wear My War: Letters from the Edge is the story of what it feels like to live with anxiety as a Black Woman in a world that often tells us to be strong but never asks if we're okay. This book is my truth. Through twenty two personal letters, I open up about the battles I fight daily the fear, the silence, the moments I feel invisible, and the weight I carry behind my smile. My anxiety began after the death of my grandfather when I was just a girl. Since then, I've lived with a constant war inside me that most people never see. I talk about how it affects my mind, my body, my relationships, and the way I walk through the world. I speak on things we don't say out loud in our communities what it means to grieve, to feel unsafe in your own skin, to be tired but still show up. These pages are filled with letters, reflections, and real moments that hurt, heal, and make space for truth. It's not always pretty, but it's real. This book is for anyone who's ever felt alone in their pain, who's ever smiled through the storm, who's ever asked, "Will this feeling ever end?" You're not alone. I see you. I am you. This is my war, but maybe it sounds like yours too.
