In ancient myths, realms like the underworld are never truly destroyed; they only get put 'to sleep' by powerful anchors- linchpins, for example. So when the linchpin's oldest son gets too close to the everlasting playing cards, he 𝐰𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬 something familiar.

One thing that can be said about Akari Yasha is that her soul touched the darkness much sooner before arriving in Borderlands. The ruthlessness of this world was only meant to reveal what other limits she is capable of crossing with her decisions. For Shuntaro Chishiya, her image remained behind the haze in his mind. Both of them had always fought a fierce battle against themselves, although they held the trigger of the same weapon. Now, years later, the ghosts of their past experiences haunt each other again in the Borderlands, where wits do not follow with humanity. Both keep a close watch on the other's moves, until one of them might be about to throw themselves into the deep waters of this cruel game.
