It was almost odd, the stark comparison between the bouncy, friendly junior and the tall, brooding senior. On paper, it shouldn't have worked. But something in Kyle evened out something in Nath, and despite having nothing in common, their personalities mixed like peanut butter and jelly. No one quite knows exactly how or when they came to be, but soon they became a well known concept, as if they had somehow merged the idea of one another into their own presence. Behind that forced cheerfulness lies an abyss: alcohol and tobacco addiction, deep depression, an eating disorder, and a hell at home where his father physically and psychologically abuses him. When his truth comes to light, Jonathan is committed to an exclusive institution for young men with mental disorders. There, while battling the demons within, he meets five boys as broken as he is: one obsessed with control, one with a bipolar disorder, another with uncontrollable rages, one trapped in delusions, another who hasn't spoken in years, and now, one who seems perfect... until he isn't.
