When Hermione visits her favorite muggle cafe in London she never expects to run into Draco Malfoy for the first time in three or four years and he has some information that Hermione desperately needs. Together they embark on an adventure and Hermione starts to feel a little different about the man who mocked her all those years.

"It's hard when you know you shouldn't hold on, and yet you're too in love to let go..." Hermione croaked. "Too in love? WAKE UP GRANGER and smell the coffee! The weasel does not love you! Because if he does, he wouldn't have cheated on you with some slag twice! " Draco hissed.

All Hermione wanted to do was to return to Hogwarts and finish her education with a bang as Head Girl. After that, she had her whole life sorted out. She would work things out with Ron, work at the ministry, and become Minister for Magic one day. The universe, as usual, had other plans. Draco certainly wasn't expecting McGonagall to pick him as Head Boy but Harry Potter declined and as per usual, he was the second choice. Unsure what the people back in school had in store for then after all the Death Eater business they were involved in, he returns to Hogwarts with his friends to finish their education anyway. Neither one saw the partnership coming, nor the friendship forged between their two sides. They really didn't plan for any of it to happen - the law, the friendship or the love that changed both of them. The War is won, and Hermione Granger is back at Hogwarts as an Eighth Year, feeling reckless and determined to shed her prim bookworm persona. Also returning is Draco Malfoy, universally hated but determined to restore his family's name. Hermione's hopes for a quiet school year are quickly dashed as she contends with mischievous First Years, killer plants, enchanted hair accessories, a totally inappropriate Moaning Myrtle, renegade Death Eaters, a nice vampire, a poorly named study group, a depraved party, and mysterious, threatening blood messages on the castle walls. We have redemption, partial redemption and (sadly or hilariously) no redemption at all. Throw in a snarky, disturbingly attractive Draco with his own secret agenda, and we have a very slow-burn Dramione with a side of who-dun-it. COMPLETE!

My eyes glazed over the tall boy, taking in every detail of his face. His expression was marked with concentration and vulnerability as he recalled the notes to the song. I took a step forward, resting my elbows on the large piano he was seated at, ignoring the people around it. I met the eyes of the musician, and it was as if, for a moment.. His eyes were not his typical icey-blue, it was as though they were the deep blue of an ocean. He hesitated as he noticed my presence, pausing ever so slightly before the next note of the song. It was barely noticeable. Nevertheless, he continued on, looking back down at the keys and going through with his song, as if it were a personal. When he had finished, the crowd broke into a delicate applause, careful not to spill their drinks. I waited for the boy to look up at me, to meet my eyes once again, but they remained on the keys to his precious instrument, as though he had never noticed me at all. Important notes/ Alterations I've made: Luna Lovegood and Oliver Wood are the same age as the golden trio, Mirabelle ect. Bellatrix Lestrange and Narcissa Malfoy aren't related, instead they are close childhood friends (Sorry I realised Draco and Mirabelle would be related like 10 chapters in, lmfaoo)
