Nico attempts a long-distance shadow-travel to visit Hazel, but his powers falter due to lingering exhaustion and the sheer emotional toll of the wars. Instead of Camp Jupiter, he lands in a dark, unfamiliar alleyway in a city unlike any he's known: Gotham. The sheer density of human despair and darkness in Gotham is overwhelming, almost physically painful for him. He encounters petty criminals or a low-level gang, instinctively using his powers to defend himself, but he's disoriented and vulnerable.

Lilith Micheal is rude, arrogant, and somehow managed to steal all Percy and Nico's friends. The gods think Percy and Nico are too powerful to stay alive so to Tartarus Zeus sends them. Chaos has been watching them since they the second Titan War.
