At a progressive liberal arts university, where art is therapy and psychology is survival, Elise Jessica Santillan is a soft-spoken Fine Arts freshman chosen to paint a mural for the school's wellness wall. Her art speaks louder than she ever could-full of emotion, honesty, and unspoken grief.
Darian Knox Elodie Verano is a Psychology senior-blunt, brilliant, emotionally guarded. He's assigned to oversee Elise's work for "psychological accuracy." Their first meeting is friction at first sight.
"This piece is about what healing feels like," she says.
"But is that what it looks like to someone in pain?" he replies.
Over, non-stop bickering, midnight planning sessions, and silent art critiques, their connection deepens. But as their present starts to feel like something real, their pasts begin to haunt them.
Because long before Elise and Darian knew each other-their parents did. And not in the best way.
Secrets buried. Stories untold.
In trying to heal others, will they have to confront the damage done long before they ever met?
A story of contrast, connection, and the fragile beauty of rebuilding what was once broken-on canvas, and within.
