It's been two years since the defeat of Gaea, and Nico is finally returning to Camp Half-blood after spending the last couple of years collecting escaped souls for his father, Hades. However, just as things are regaining a sense of normalcy, everything goes sideways again. Nico is attacked by a monster within camp boundaries, and Hades has gone missing. Then the Oracle speaks another prophecy. One where Nico is the bad guy. To protect himself, and camp, Nico flees once again, leaving behind his family, friends, and everything familiar for the twisty, crime-ridden streets of Gotham City. Now, feeling more alone than ever, Nico has to keep his nose clean and try and discover the meaning behind this newest chain of catastrophic events. But trouble seems to follow the son of Hades, and soon he's faced with a new challenge- family. As Nico tries to juggle hiding his own demigod identity from five of the world's best detectives, and discovering the secret behind their own late-night disappearances, the prophecy begins unwinding around him, sending him into a downwards spiral of disaster and discovery. A collection of writing advice/a behind the scenes look into my broken brain. Some of this will be really to the point with direct advice, while other bits will be a bit of just a flow of thought rant-but either way, its very on brand for me lmao

Nico had two goals when he moved to Gotham #1- help new demigods get to Camp #2- don't meet the Waynes He didn't have anything against the family, how could he when he was only told about them the day before he moved, but he had heard about the serial adoption of black haired kids. He already had a strained relationship with his father, he didn't need a second one. -------- As Nico sat in the park with the random boys he befriended, he finally felt normal. They didn't know who his father was; hell, they thought his father was dead. He was quite literally the most free he had been since Italy and even then, it was under Mussolini at the time so that was a bit of a stretch. The calm seemed universal throughout the group until Tim's phone rang. "Oh shit, it's Bruce." Immediately all of them were on alert scanning the surrounding area while Tim talked on the phone, panic in his eyes. "He was on the other side of the park for a walk between meetings and saw a picture of us walking in the park online," Tim said as soon as he hung up. "Wait wait wait" Nico said as Jason looked like he was preparing to literally throw him into the tree. "Bruce as in Bruce Wayne? You're the Wayne's?! And why are you acting like he's gonna shoot me on sight?" "He's gonna shoot adoption papers at you." Damian mumbled, once again begrudgingly reviving a high five from Tim and Dick. Jason just rolled his eyes as he made his hands a step for Nico to get in the tree. "Yes we're the Wayne's. How do you know of us, but not have a clue what we look like?" Nico climbed onto the lowest branch that was a good six feet off the ground. "I was technically homeless until a few months ago and just got a phone last month, sue me for never seeing a picture," he said in a whisper yell before continuing to scale the tree. -------- Daily updates at 12:15am EST

The Second Giant War was gruesome. With only 3 of the 7 left alive, they demigods of prophecy left the camps. They were unable, or maybe just unwilling, to be in the places where their friends once walked. They chose to escape the world of demigods while they still could. They wanted to try for normal so that maybe, one day, they could forget any of it ever happened. They wanted peace and safety. Nico... well, Nico had other ways of coping. ------------- Nico had had a long life. 16 years old, plus however many had passed in that cured casino had left little joy in his life. He had lost his grandparents, his mother, Bianca, his friends, and then Hazel... he missed her more than he could bare. He only knew his sister for around a year before he had lost her, and not a single day had passed in the last two years that he hadn't thought of her. He couldn't go to either camp or the underworld without feeling like his chest would explode from the pain. He knew she was in a better place. Her and Frank were in Elysium with Jason, Piper, and the rest of the heroes that died in the wars. She was at peace. Maybe she had even managed meet his mother and they were watching him now... though he honestly hoped they weren't.
