Main Theme
Harry keeps insisting he doesn't have a crush on Draco, but everyone around him can see the truth before he can. It's a humorous, slightly embarrassing, slow-burn style story where Harry is stuck in denial.
Harry's Character
* Defensive whenever someone mentions Draco.
* Constantly making excuses for why he notices Draco.
* Doesn't realize how obvious he's being.
* Gets flustered whenever people point it out.
* Secretly pays way more attention to Draco than he means to.
Draco's Character
* Starts noticing Harry's behavior before Harry does.
* Finds the whole situation hilarious.
* Acts smug whenever he catches Harry staring.
* Doesn't push too hard because he's enjoying watching Harry figure it out.
* Knows exactly how flustered Harry gets.
Ron & Hermione's Role
They're basically the audience.
They've already connected the dots and spend most of the story watching Harry embarrass himself.
Examples:
* Harry always knows where Draco is.
* Harry constantly looks toward the Slytherin table.
* Harry somehow brings Draco up in random conversations.
* Harry notices little details about Draco without realizing it.
Meanwhile Ron and Hermione are sitting there like:
"Mate, you literally have a crush on him."
And Harry's response is basically:
"I absolutely do not."
The Tone
* Funny
* Light-hearted
* Flustered Harry
* Smug Draco
* Friends teasing Harry
* Lots of denial
The Ending Meaning
The ending is meant to show that Harry is slowly running out of excuses.
When he automatically looks toward Draco and finds Draco already looking back at him, it's one of those moments where everyone except Harry already knows what's happening.
Ron laughs.
Hermione gives up.
Draco smirks.
And Harry is left wondering why everyone keeps saying he likes Draco when he's practically proving them right every five minutes.
In short, it's a denial-era Drarry comedy where Harry is accidentally falling for Draco while everyone else watches the disaster unfold.
