Ryder watched as that loser guy tugged a strand of hair behind Sparrow's ear and a small smile lit up her face. Punching him in the gut. The unwelcoming feeling once again attacked him as he recalled her words. 'Was throwing away my love for a fancy bike worth it, Ryder?' 'Damn that bet and damn this bike', Ryder decided with resolve. Time to win her back. No matter what it takes. She can run away all she wants. Let's see for how long she can keep it up. With determination, Ryder called out Sparrow's name for the whole campus to hear, she looked at him with a questioning frown. Pulling out a bottle of petroleum, Ryder poured it over the brand-new Ecosse Spirit ES1-worth $3.6 million, flicked open a lighter and tossed it onto the bike, watching as flames devoured the sleek machine. Sparrow looked at him with wide perplexed eyes. However, she quickly schooled her features, then did the unthinkable, gave him the middle finger and walked away. A small wicked smile tugged at Ryder's lips at her audacity. It was an open challenge. Everyone knew that signature smirk of Ryder meant trouble, and in this case it was for Sparrow Andrews. The game is on.

"You just have no idea." His voice was thick with restraint. "W-what," I breathed. His gaze flicked to my lips as his thumb stroked again. The calloused pad against my soft flesh sent goosebumps down my arms. His once warm eyes were dark as they lifted and bared into my soul. "What you do to... men." His husky whisper weakened my knees. I almost fell but his other hand settled on my hip, pulling me closer to him. "What you do to me," he added on a breath. The hand on my jaw shifted. His fingers left trails of tingles as he slipped them back slowly, under my earlobe and into my curls. *************************************************** As a young girl, Charlotte Avery's favourite pass time was daydreaming about her Prince Charming: Archer Johnson. I've dreamed of the perfect marriage ever since I was a little girl: a marriage complete with a hardworking husband while I tended to the home and our children, preferably four little rugrats to call my own. I dreamed of a life filled with laughter, joy, and success, a life we built together. I dreamed of growing old next to my husband, creating a great love story to tell our grandchildren someday. It all seemed so possible. I was raised to be the perfect wife, after all. From the outside, it seemed I had exactly what I dreamed of with the rich, determined husband; the brilliant, gaudy diamond ring; and the beautiful home filled with the hope of future children. Yes, it was all a dream come true. I should have felt grateful, really. The problem is, I also wanted a marriage based on love, passion, and affection, but those are the only things my husband cannot give me . . . . . . because they're reserved for her. For readers: * I do my best to proofread before publishing, but some typos and errors will slip through. Feel free to point them out! * Comments, active engagement, and helpful critiques are welcomed. * Mean, unnecessary comments that attack me, personally, or other commenters will be ignored and deleted. It takes a lot of courage to publish your work and for others to actively engage in a community. I'd like to keep this a safe and fun place to rage at imperfect heroes and cheer for darling heroines! * I'm not a spicy writer. I rather use my word count for plot, character development, and GROVEL!!! * Most importantly, I hope you enjoy the little world I'm creating. Happy reading, everyone! ADS/Imaginationgirl35
