Joelle Khoury has to redo her volunteer hours at a local food pantry after a community service scandal rocks her school. Although she had nothing to do with it, her classmate and long-time food pantry volunteer, Kane Wheeler, doesn't welcome her with open arms.
What starts out as contentious forced proximity between two polar opposites - in their personalities, hobbies, and home lives - turns into a blossoming connection when Joelle enlists Kane's help with math, his one true passion. But as their personal lives start intertwining and their insecurities rise to the surface, Joelle and Kane will have to decide if a relationship is really about bridging their differences - or if accepting each other as they are is all that matters.
