At the age of eighteen, you were given a rank: Hunter, Prey, or Civilian.
If you were marked a Hunter, you'd join a group of other Hunters or go at it alone to capture and kill as many Prey as possible. Hunters could kill Prey, Civilians, or other Hunters. The point of the game was survival, and if you deemed someone a threat, you had the right to kill them.
If you were marked a Civilian, you would join a group of other civilians who spectated the game. However, that didn't mean you were safe from the Hunters or being attacked. All spectators could be hurt. But if it was a choice between Civilians and Prey, Hunters would go for Prey.
If you were marked Prey, your best bet would be to hide and run like hell. The Prey was the most agile of the ranks, but the most valuable to kill. Hunters would get stronger for every Prey they captured and killed. However, many Prey fled in groups, which would either be their salvation or their demise.
As the deadly game of Hunter vs. Prey wreaks havoc across Irell, two boys conceal their identity as prey in order to survive the game.
What happens when their group of allies finds out their secret? Will they survive the game? Or will they fall victim to the Hunters?
