When 17 year old Kirk Hammett gets sent to boarding school by his parents, he expects just a random school... but he got something that is so much worse...a cult. But here, he makes new friends...and has a small (actually, very big) crush on his roommate Lars Ulrich. Will Kirk be able to trust his new friends? Will he be able to escape this hellhole? "Shhh... Dave, it's alright. You're fine. You're safe... I've got you... shh..." Tears of fear and pain drip down my face. James places his hand on the side of my face, his thumb tenderly wiping the tears from my cheeks. His gentle tone makes me start to feel less stressed, and before long I let myself sink back into his arms. I lay my head on his chest. He says nothing and the feel of his steady breathing in the silence comforts me. But even with his breath so steady I know he's awake. "Dave, what happened?"

Dave couldn't be in a worse position. Not after Metallica. Not before Metallica. Not even many years later in life. Will it be too late to have a good life? Will there ever be anyone to trust?

(Sequel to "We Only Live Broken") Dave Mustaine is finally free. He's away from his abusive bandmates, safe with his old friends in Metallica. Despite the horrible memories of his time with Megadeth, he's beginning to dig himself out of the hole originally left by being kicked from Metallica. He's rebuilding his life as he recovers. However, for anyone, nothing good ever lasts long. With his former Megadeth bandmates bitter about his departure, and something he's not quite sure of developing between him and James, can he keep it together?
