For 17 year old Benna Denman, it's hard enough being the president's daughter. And when she develops a telepathic Link, life gets even worse. Her father isn't impressed with this new evolutionary ability. It means he could lose control over people's communications - in a world without cell phones, publicly accessible internet, or a postal service, it's difficult for dissent to spread and uprising to organize. That's just the way he likes it. So when the government starts offering cash in exchange for these telepaths, and Benna is under suspicion by both her boyfriend and her powerful father, she knows she's in trouble. Upon discovering that the cold Dr. Frenchwood plans to use her as a lab rat to develop a cure for telepathy, Benna and her Link, a boy named Corin, decide to try to run... "Why is this happening to me?" My breaths are tight in my chest, and tears threaten to spill over. "Because," Rhetta says, struggling to find the words, "sometimes people are punished for crimes they haven't committed. You're being punished for the crimes of another, and I know it's not fair." Tears run down my face. "Sorry," I whisper, wiping them away. "I must look idiotic." "No," Rhetta says slowly, looking at the tear making its way down my cheek. She leans forward and moves her thumb along my cheek, wiping it away. Our faces are so close they nearly touch. She looks up at me, and my heart stops. Her eyes flutter down to my lips. Then back up to my eyes. And my life is never the same. "The love of someone who has never been loved properly should be treasured; it is a rare thing to be given away." -unknown

Four unmarked survivors. One totalitarian government. A fight to keep their humanity intact. 100 years into the future, the E-91 virus has thrust the world into chaos. For Rachel Wilson, survival hasn't come easy. For the last fifteen years, she's lived in the wilderness, just out of reach of the Council of Nations. Until one day, poachers--the section of law enforcement tasked with hunting the Unmarked--raid her home and she is forced to go on the run. Weary from the attack, but certainly not broken, she ventures into a dangerous world with only her fiery determination to survive. In what appears to be a stroke of good luck, she is rescued by an underground movement working towards bringing down the capital or die trying. Death over mark, that had always been the mantra. Because the alternative-becoming a mind-controlled soldier to fight the capital's war-was a fate worse than death. ***What other readers are saying about Marked*** "You've done a wonderful job of creating and molding this couple into real people. Now, they practically breathe!" -thebirdwhisperer "This is incredible! I was holding my breath for a second there because everything was so good and the action felt so rea!!!" -titanic123 "I rarely comment as I'm not very good with words. But I have to tell you I enjoyed your book so much. I cried and laughed, bit my nails and rooted the characters on as if they were my family." -leenafrog

In a time after a terrible plague came an era of peace and harmony among the six thousand, five hundred and forty three survivors. Sixty five years later there were still six thousand, five hundred and forty three survivors, who resided in a town called Mount Wescott, jagged peaks and forests surrounding it in every which direction. As soon as someone was born, one way or another, somebody else died. It happened each time like clockwork, the population never increasing or decreasing.
