Alex has always been in love with his best friend Marty. Since the first time he saw him he had had feelings for him, but he never truly knew what they were until Marty ran away on his birthday. Now, almost a year after, on Valentine's Day, he promised himself he would tell the zebra about his feelings, but the day ended up being terrible as Marty decided to try Julian's love potion and had gotten all the attention from most of the animals in the reserve, including an incredibly charming okapi from another reserve, which Alex couldn't help but feel jealous of. Marty seemed to be really interested in her and Alex had given up all his hope when he started finding valentine cards someone had written for him on the floor What will happen? It has been 580 days (according to alex's tally board in the movie) since Quinn and her friends crash landed in Africa. After they rebuilt their plane and saved a wildlife reserve from a drought by refilling a watering hole, she and Marty became a couple, though are a bit reluctant to have children. When the troupe ends up in Europe and commandeer a circus, they'll face several challenges, including escaping from Monaco animal control officer, Capitan Chantel Dubois.

(ON HIATUS) Alex, Marty, and other zoo animals find a way to escape from Madagascar when the penguins reassemble a wrecked airplane. The precariously repaired craft stays airborne just long enough to make it to the African continent. There the New Yorkers encounter members of their own species for the first time.(Except for Chelsea. Sorry.)Africa proves to be a wild place, but Alex and company wonder if it is better than their Central Park home.

Five friends, A lion, zebra, hippo, giraffe, and a human sized rabbit, all have the lives they are truely live for, but what happens when one of them wants to go out into the wild?
