Life takes a turn when she gets aid from a mysterious hooded figure, a rebel. Kaira is thrown into a war she doesn't want any part of and given a title she doesn't want to bear. There's more to the Emperor than meets the eye, a dark collective working behind the scenes, and a secret her parents fought to keep hidden. Kaira has to make a choice. Accept the title she's been given and train her power and strength to destroy the threat, or stand back and watch the world burn in darkness. One sister held captive. The other locked in her home. War's game is playing. Adira Hawk has been held captive by Maeve for over a month. How much longer she doesn't know. The only thing that's on her mind is survive, keep Kai alive, and pray they both can make it through in one piece. Trapped in her own home, Lyn Hawk is trying to balance both leading the group on her own and keeping the village safe, all the while trying to find where Adira is being held and save her. But with eight people in her home-seven and a half, if being technical-the simple act of focusing is proving to be harder than understanding what's happening to her. When Brock begins to show where his loyalties lie, Lyn finds the people of Berk are in danger by both him and Maeve. And with the disappearance of dragons, including the Alpha's sister, Lyn realizes that the rescue for Adira will take longer than she wanted. Both Adira and Lyn have to battle their own fights in the war, but when the sisters are torn apart, will they be strong enough to endure and survive them? ---------------------------- This story is geared towards an older audience. Nyra Thorne's origin wasn't forged by tragedy, but rather betrayal. She had everything, gained what she fought for. She was a prodigy; celebrated, admired, feared. Nyra was the warrior the kingdom loved. She gave them every victory...until she was blamed for the blood that followed. Slandered. Banished. Seemingly forgotten. Now she calls herself the Dark Arrow, the Hollow String, the Shadow Archer. She disappeared for a time, just long enough to let the world relax. But she's done hiding. Nyra has returned. Not with vengeance. With purpose. The kingdom fears her, and she lets them. She's become what they think of her, stepping into the position without hesitation. If being the villain is the only way for them to hear, she'll do it. Sometimes, truth isn't found in light. It's found in the darkness by those who wish to stand in it. Good morning, I'm Kalliope Aoidós (yes, spelled like this: Καλλιόπη Ἀοιδός... pretty impressive, right?), Technical Account Manager at a company in... well, I'm sure you don't really need my CV for this. Let's try again. Hey, I'm Kalliope Aoidós, and I've got a little problem. Okay, more like an incurable, family-heritage problem. Technically, it's genetic-something my family has been conveniently passing down for centuries. One of my great-great-great-great-grandparents thought it was totally appropriate to insult his muse, calling her a "good-for-nothing" and a "sellout." How charming, right? Too bad that muse was THE Muse after whom I'm named. Apparently, she's not exactly the warm and fuzzy type. So why on earth do I have the honor of carrying the name of the one who cursed my entire family tree? Oh, that was my grandmother's brilliant idea. In a way, they "sacrificed" me to her by giving me her name, hoping it would change her mind about the curse. Spoiler alert: It didn't. So here I am, just like hundreds of my ancestors, stuck in the same lovely swamp. I'm a Book Jumper or, as my grandmother (who has a flair for dramatic epithets) likes to call me, a βιβλιοποδητής, which basically means "walker of books." And these are my stories. Or, more accurately, my delightful misadventures. Copyright 2025 AnemoneMarino. All Rights Reserved.
