After Tadashi's death, Hiro , his younger brother, will not to talk to anyone except his Aunt Cass who comes upstairs to give him food but he won't eat it. The only thing he will do is write ideas for stuff he could build and maybe even upgrade a few things in his journal  then he almost wanted to cut himself but then he remembered that a long life is better than a short life, just like their parents told both him and Tadashi when they were younger. One day he accidentally activated Baymax, a Healthcare Companion create by Tadashi.
