When her childhood friend Adella is abducted by the hands of their enemies, Jasmine and Valentino turn the city of New York upside down in search of her. She is found eventually, but to say she's remained untouched was the worst of understatements. Seeking vengeance for the cruelty inflicted, the angel of light fast becomes the angel of death. Of course, who ever said exacting revenge would be a walk in Central Park? Kazimir Ivanov and his wife Andriana - who was also Jasmine's sister and Valentino's ex fianceé - hated Jasmine and Valentino with a passion and wanted nothing more than to end them and destroy all who were close to them. In order to do so, Kazimir does everything in his power to drive the couple apart; bringing in the most ruthless criminals in America to be his pawns in his own sick version of chess. Determined to put the rabid dog down permanently, Valentino accepts the challenge, and it's not long before war is declared and the red flag is raised, bringing death and destruction to their doorstep. In a world of kill or be killed - where money, blood and power reigns supreme - either you're the hunter or the hunted. You want to survive? Then pull the trigger. "Let's play a game, shall we?" Valentino picked up one of the guns and inserted a bullet in the chamber. "We're gonna play some Russian Roulette. Whoever shoots him first gets to torture him." I clapped my hands excitedly at the prospect of a challenge. "Let's do it!" Smirking, Valentino pointed the gun at the prisoner. I watched as his eyes screwed shut, waiting for the bullet to hit him. When nothing happened he passed the gun to Damen. Again, nothing. When it was my turn I aimed it at his thigh, pulled the trigger, and a shot was heard. Damen groaned and slumped against the wall. "Fuck. Again." Grinning, I picked up my obsidian knife and trailed my finger along the blade, watching my latest toy squirm in his chair while terror was etched onto his face. "So, who's ready to have some fun?

Blissfully married, surrounded by loyal friends and family, and the leaders of the eminent Sangue Mafia, Jasmine and Valentino Guerrero are the quintessence of a perfect couple. They are dangerous, bold, powerful and above all madly in love. Mere months after having tied the knot the newlyweds are faced with family drama, envy, jealousy and animosity from all sides. They say family is everything, but sometimes even the closest relatives tend to hide the darkest secrets. In addition to the internal strife, shadows from the past loom over the Guerrero household, bringing startling revelations, pain and old grudges to the surface while threatening the safety of the family as well as their loved ones. "Alright buddy, here's the deal. My wife is hungry, she's cold and tired, and frankly, so am I," Valentino said as he picked up a hammer and approached Alejandro. "Why not make this easier on everybody and just tell us where the files are? If you do that, I'll skip the foreplay and go straight to the fucking." "You idiot! You mixed up the phrases," I laughed. "It's, 'I'll skip the torture and go straight to the killing'. You're just horny babe, that's why you were thinking of foreplay and fucking." "I blame it on you tesoro. You and your sexy-as-hell body. Why, looking at you in this tight little leather skirt and lace top has all sorts of desirous thoughts running rampant through my brain," he groaned. I giggled and leaned against the wall, feeling proud of myself for being able to scramble Valentino's brains so easily, that too without even trying. Redirecting my attention to the matter at hand I saw Valentino raise the hammer and bring it down on Alejandro's knee, causing the latter to let out an anguished yell. "Where are the files?" he demanded. "F..fuck you! I'll never tell you!" Alejandro spat. Valentino looked back at me and I gave a helpless shrug. "He asked for it, so give it to him."
