The girl character finds her boyfriend cheating on her. From the shock she bolts out of the house and back in her car, crashing it into a forest. This forest is basically the haunted forest of no return,...because no one returns. The vampire finds her and patches her up very carefully. She needs recovery time and medical attention. So she never leaves his sight except for, y'know the basics like using the toilet. Turns out this forest has a barrier somewhere within it, leading to the monster world. So basically she's the only human, and because of that he has more reasons to keep a close eye on her.
