While this can be read as a stand alone you may wish to read Forbidden first as a back story. I was a member of a religious group that many people, especially those of us who have gotten out, may call a cult. The majority of things that happened to my original characters are drawn from what I went through or saw friends go through. After writing Emma's story I found I could not leave her sister Andi alone without help.
