I was so tired, but I couldn't sleep. My mind was racing, fighting and winning in the battle against my weak body. I tugged my bottom lip under my top row of teeth, my eyebrows pulling together as I asked myself a simple question that I had no answer to. What now? ---

She's dating the theatre manager Karsten, who's 20 years her senior. She should be happy, but this December she's feeling blue at the prospect of having to spend Christmas Eve alone while the family enjoys a family holiday in Thailand. Karsten is acting distant and won't commit to spending Christmas together, leaving Delphine wondering if he's no longer in love with her.
