Seven tribes of cats live together in a fantasy world where a desert can be between a forest and a rainforest. Each tribe has special abilities, the Mud Tribe have impenetrable fur, the Sand Tribe are immune to fire as long as they are touching sand, the Ice Tribe have really tough claws for climbing rocks and walking on ice, the Sky Tribe can fly, the Sea Tribe have a special seaweed that lets them breathe underwater, the Rain Tribe can turn invisible, and the Night Tribe can sometimes read minds. The leaders of each tribe can choose whether or not they want to have a second in command. Usually they choose someone close to them, such as a sibling, or their mate. However if forced to make a choice they will choose anyone. The second in command is not usually next in line to become the tribe leader but on certain occasions they will be. But how are tribe leaders chosen? When a leader is alive they will choose a specific cat to succeed them. In the Night Tribe it's usually the current leader's daughter. Quick terminology rundown: a molly is a female cat who either doesn't currently have kittens or cannot have kittens, a queen is a female cat currently expecting or raising kittens, and a tom is a male cat. cover is temporary, everything about this is a work in progress. a prequel I've been writing alongside Fall of the Stars so as to keep the story consistent between the two, because I wanted to tell the story of the first Magic Cats. I might one day change a few character names.

Feri; glowing-eyed winged catlike creatures who change colour. Moon, one of these, had lived her whole life on the outskirts of a feri village, alone. Years ago, her parents disappeared with no sign of where they went. Now, when she finally finds a clue, she journeys to find them. Translated from feri into English by Light - a feri who had not been born yet as of the events of this story. some creatures I made up, and the story I made for them. I've been working on the story since shortly after I started writing Magic Cats but I was never satisfied with the beginning and the pacing of Moon's physical journey, or the worldbuilding. so, I'm rewriting it.
