God does nothing as the flames take her whole. She had a cross around her neck and fire in her lungs. A good girl, a golden girl, with a smile sweet as scripture and a soul already damned. The Lord said, 'Love thy neighbor,' but He never warned her about girls with smoke in their lungs and ghosts in their eyes. She prays, but the feeling never leaves. Maybe this is her punishment.
