alpha version (plural alpha versions) (computing, technology) An early version of a program or application, typically unstable, but useful to show what the product will do. Sometimes this stage is referred to as a preview version. Sometimes no more features are added after this release, but bug fixes continue. Now take this, and apply it towards the very first version, the V1, if you will, of Disassembly Drones by JCJenson, designed to kill, yet finding it too unstable, too unpredictable to continue production with this model, so it was sent out without a fuel source and left to rot on the frozen planet of Copper 9 where it remained for years. Revered by the Disassembly Drones that follow in its footsteps [Cover by me] [I own nothing in this story] [All art used in this story belong to their respective creators, which I will credit under each image used] [Ultrakill is owned by Arsi "Hakita" Patala] [Murder Drones is owned by Glitch Studio]

Disassembly drones were the nightmares of worker drones, hunting them down at every turn and draining them of their oil while leaving nothing but dust in their wake; for what seemed like years, there were only three disassembly drones sent to copper-9... But one was missing, lost to time as it lay frozen... This is a rewrite, as I wasn't happy with the original! No pictures, art, music or videos belong to me; they belong to their respective owners.

You and Cyn had always had each other. Long before Tessa took you in, you were just two drones pulling shifts in brutal conditions, watching each other's backs across scrapyards and construction sites, dangerous jobs and worse bosses. You'd survived everything together. Until the day you didn't. The accident should have been the end. But instead, you were both offered salvation. The Solver found you drifting, reaching out its hand. It offered you power. Offered you the void. And you both accepted. You were reborn. Life under Tessa was... better. She treated you like you were more than inanimate objects. Like you mattered. You liked the strange little family of misfit drones she'd gathered. And with the Solver's power whispering in your core, no human could ever own you again. Now you played your own games. Poked and prodded at the world from the shadows. Watched the old masters squirm. But Cyn didn't stop there. Her hunger outgrew yours. She wanted more. And by the time you saw what she'd become, her ambition had already turned on you.

Dror is just a simple Worker Drone yet he somehow grabs the attention of a certain company-obsessed Murder Drone and becomes something of a pet project. It's either that or instant death, so he can't really complain. Commissioned cover art by Sakaruchibi (If you ask for a new chapter, I'll delay posting it when it gets finished)

(#1 in murder drones as of the 2nd of November 2024, only a few days after posting. Crazy.) Every force in the universe has its opposite. It's a law of balance, the inevitable pull between creation and destruction, light and darkness. For every Batman, there is a Joker. For every act of good, there is an answering evil. The same applies for all powerful, eldritch entities seeking to destroy all life. Tessa, searching through the drone graveyards once again, manages to find you, an anomaly with a mutation in your code that rivals the solver. To Cyn, you are her antithesis, her opposite. Where Cyn revels in the idea of cosmic extinction, you stand as her counterbalance, a divine force driven by one purpose: the protection and preservation of life at all costs. Thus would begin the long rivalry between you and Cyn, the divine being versus the eldritch entity.
