The night smelled like gasoline and oranges.
Artemira Ravelle stood on the rooftop of the Valentini estate, wind tugging at her coat, cigarette smoke curling from her lips. Below, the party pulsed with power and lies. Up here, it was just her and Enzo.
"You don't want me," he said, leaning close. "Not like I do. Don't lie-I know you do."
She took a slow drag. "You like danger," he went on. "But I am danger. And we both know what happens when you put fire in a bottle." "It breaks," she said. "Or explodes." The door creaked open behind them. Raffaele stepped out, tie loosened, eyes cold. "He's drunk on you again. Bad habit." "Jealous?" Enzo challenged. "No," Raffaele said, walking between them. "Just better at hiding it." His gaze locked on Artemira. "You don't need a wildfire. You need a storm that knows when to strike." Then came Matteo's voice, low and firm. "Enough." He stood in the doorway, expression unreadable. "You're making her choose. She's smarter than both of you." He looked at her, steady. "Hearts don't belong in this life, Artemira," he said. "But I'd still give you mine." Three brothers.
The fire.
The storm.
The sword.
All looking at her like she was salvation or ruin. But Artemira wasn't torn. She was the weapon. And none of them were ready for the war she'd bring.
