Time snuck
beneath our covers
and stole our youth,
branded
by the stresses of life
you can barely look
at me, and I you
though love
like a stubborn mildew,
a stain
clings, growing,
despite the passing of time,
the ripper the berry
the sweeter the juice,
and we suckle
on that sweet love,
like damned fools
unperturbed,
by the thief in the night,
rebels of love
with an ageless cause.
