Eddie continues this kindness towards Richie, at first because he knows if he doesn't, he will die, but soon he comes to terms with the fact that he is in fact, in love.

Richie Tozier doesn't speak. He hasn't for 4 years. He doesn't expect anything to change when his "family" moves to Derry, Maine, until he meets a completely unexpected bombshell named Eddie Kaspbrak that is. Then it's all a whirlwind of change from there.
