There's rain hammering down against the iron roof, almost in sync with the frantic beating of Soobin's heart as he huddles deeper into the grimy corner of the warehouse, the unpleasant scent of gunpowder floating in the air. He shouldn't be here, he knows that he shouldn't be here, but he couldn't stay away. Soobin's stomach churns. If he could scream at Yeonjun right now, he would do anything to stop the terrifying display in front of him. He loves Yeonjun, but this is a side of him that he only sees in fleeting moments. But as Yeonjun turns the safety off, a single questions runs through his mind: How much longer can he pretend that the man he loves and the monster he fears aren't one and the same?

The torrential downpour pounds relentlessly against the worn pavement, as if the heavens - if there is one, unleashes their wrath upon the deserted city. The dark alleys are now nothing more than murky rivers, flowing with the incessant rainfall. "You know what you have to do," Yeonjun says from somewhere behind him and Soobin sighs heavily, shakily. Does he really? His trembling fingers poise on the trigger, the weight of the decision now unbearable. He can't do this, it's not who he is. The distorted shape of the man disintegrates into mere shadows and half truths, as the line between good and evil blur into an indistinguishable gray. Time slows, stretching each second to an agonizing eternity. And without a second thought, Soobin pulls the trigger.

Choi Beomgyu x Kang Taehyun Cherophobia is the fear of being happy. One with this phobia might avoid any activity that would cause them to be happy. There's a few reasons why some might go through this. Taehyun's reason was simple. He was selfless, and refused to be happy while other people were suffering. Beomgyu was the mood maker of the school. He could always bring a smile on everyone's face just by his presence, except for Taehyun. Beomgyu ended up having to do a project for a class. The challenge was "try to help someone overcome one of their biggest fears. Or write a story about someone overcoming their fears." Yeah, we all know where this is going.
