The Earth is uninhabitable. Or at least, it's well on its way to being so. Years of mistreatment and environmental disasters have reduced the livability of the planet, and humanity needs a way out. Scientists worked around the clock have come up with an option to start again, and not one anyone expected: time travel. So the lucky few-and those rich enough to buy a place-are sent back in time, to before recorded human history, to build a civilization before the Earth became the way it is today, and start again. When a virus sweeps through North America, killing over 75% of the population, those left behind have to make do however they can. Many are stuck in place: on trains, at work, at airports. Some move around, scavenging and doing their best to stay alive. Enter the Groveland Mall in what used to be Locksley, Iowa: a shopping center turned safe haven. When the apocalypse hit, it was just another Tuesday-no one expected everything to go to shit all at once.
