Wattpad has teamed up with National Geographic to wake the world up to the potential impact of single-use plastics. In 500 words or less, we're asking you to share a story-real or fiction-inspired by actual photos of this global issue.

Atlantic Bay High School was built right next to the sea. The students practically grew up in the ocean. Nobody had a deeper appreciation for the sea than Olympia Walters. However, after her sixteenth birthday Olympia's love for the water turned into an obsession. She had just put the pieces of her life back together after her best friend, Joey, tore it apart. Joey had left Olympia to join the 'Atlantic Bay Gang', a group of oddly beautiful teenagers that isolated themselves from others. What happens when Olympia's obsession only continues to grow? Olympia realizes that life is only getting more confusing and the 'Atlantic Bay Gang' are the only people who can help her find her answers.
