ALSO ON AO3 The story is set deep within the subterranean networks of Pandora, home to the Cary'eywa'tes clan. Unlike the surface-dwelling Na'vi, this clan lives entirely inside the massive Grand Geode, navigating by acoustic crystals and the natural geothermal warmth of the earth. At the center of their territory is a main plaza housing a giant ceremonial basin and the Heart of Echoes, a sacred site surrounded by glowing crystal formations and clouds of bioluminescent butterflies. The deep-cave people possess a distinct appearance, characterized by their elegant, whitish-lilac skin. The plot ultimately transitions from external clan drama into an intimate, gentle romance. Sheltered near a secluded moon pool and the pulsing energy of the Heart of Echoes, the two find a profound, shared peace-proving that in the deepest parts of the world, the overwhelming noise of the outside world finally changes into something quiet and safe.
