She came to Erebor as a duty - a diplomatic bargain, a political bride in everything but name. He was the king she was meant to negotiate with, not fall for. A man carved from stone and fire, impossible to sway... until she did. What begins as an alliance becomes something neither can step back from. A pull too deep, too dangerous, too undeniable. But the closer she stands to Thorin Oakenshield, the clearer it becomes: Power has enemies. Kings have shadows. And every choice has a cost. In a mountain that remembers every promise, two stubborn hearts discover that some bonds are forged - and some are claimed. Her family gave shelter to a band of weary travelers. A meal by the fire, a kindness freely given - nothing more. But five years later, Thorin Oakenshield remembers. With Erebor reclaimed and his crown secure, the King Under the Mountain seeks to repay a debt long left unsettled. Yet when he returns to the farmstead, he finds not a warm hearth but ruin - and the woman who once caught his eye standing alone among the ashes of her family's sacrifice. What begins as honor quickly becomes something deeper: laughter breaking through grief, quarrels sparking into kisses, and two stubborn souls learning to fight not against one another, but for each other. As shadows stir once more and Erebor itself calls him home, Thorin must decide if love can be more enduring than stone - and if he dares to claim not just a kingdom, but the heart that has been his all along. A tale of memory, fire, and fate - where debts are paid not in gold, but in love and when love blooms promise is kept.

She never asked to be a seer. She never asked to carry visions that tear pieces of her away each time she looks into the dark. But when Gandalf brings Maureen to Thorin Oakenshield, she finds herself bound to thirteen dwarves and one stubborn King who swears she is under his protection. From the gold-lit halls of Erebor to the shadowed forests of Mirkwood, Maureen walks a road filled with visions of blood, fire, and loss. Every glimpse into the future shows her the same unbearable truth: Thorin's death. Yet the closer she draws to him, the harder it becomes to let go. Thorin has weathered exile, fire, and battle-but nothing shakes him like the woman fate has placed in his path. She is fire and defiance, tenderness and steel, and though she insists her gift will one day destroy her, he refuses to surrender her to prophecy. Not to Azog, not to kings who would bargain for her, not even to the madness of his own gold-sickness. As kingdoms clash, armies gather, and dragon-fire burns, a bond forged between King and Seer may be the only thing strong enough to defy fate itself. But can love endure when prophecy demands sacrifice? A tale of destiny, devotion, and the fierce love that can turn the tide of war-Maureen and Thorin's story will break your heart and heal it, leaving you breathless until the last page.

There were few people that Thorin Oakenshield trusted. He trusted his kin, but that was it. After losing the Lonely Mountain, the dwarves of Erebor were looked down upon by many races of Middle Earth and elves had a special place of distrust in Thorin's mind. Except... Oreliell and her sister are wanderers, traveling across the vastness of Middle Earth, surviving in the wilds and helping those that needed it. Then, one day, they stumble upon a company of thirteen dwarves, a wizard, and a halfling. Author's Note: Please do not steal my work! I do not own the Hobbit or the characters, but I do own my OCs and the parts of the plot that are not part of the movies. I have worked very hard on this fic. Please be respectful and do not steal.

After being unexpectedly dumped the night of her firm's Christmas party, thoroughly modern Noelle James decides to skip the festivities and go for a walk along Fifth Avenue.
