The girl had been ill for several years, and all this time Daeron the Good couldn't bring himself to break the engagement because it would have looked unseemly, despite the Council's insistence. So it was that Baelor enjoyed his bachelor life more than he should have. And then Ella died. And then there was Jena. 3. Jena is about to turn eighteen and wants to see the Free Cities, not this "marry a Targaryen" thing. Especially since it was her older sister, sadly deceased, who was promised to this very Targaryen.
