Ria has always believed that a good life is something you plan carefully. A degree. A career. The right relationship. The right city. The right future. She has spent years drawing the map.
Then, one summer, she leaves for the South of France.
It was supposed to be temporary - a few months somewhere beautiful before returning home to the life she had already chosen for herself. But France has a way of making certainty feel small.
There, beneath the heat of the Mediterranean sun, Ria begins saying yes to things she would have once said no to. To strangers. To late nights. To getting lost. To mornings that begin without a plan. To the girl in the mirror who seems freer every day.
And then there is him.
He is everything her carefully constructed future never accounted for: spontaneous, infuriating, magnetic, impossible to predict. Loving him feels like stepping into the ocean without knowing how deep it is.
For the first time, Ria isn't thinking about who she is supposed to become. She's simply becoming.
But summers end.
And when the plane ticket home starts getting closer, Ria is forced to face the question she has been avoiding all along: What happens when the life you always wanted is waiting for you - but you no longer want it?
Because sometimes getting lost isn't about losing your way.
Sometimes, it's the first time you finally find yourself.
