We begin two days after the Featherington Ball, when Colin finally realizes his feelings towards Penelope. But he's also realized that he is not worthy of her love. He has hurt her again and again, so what else can he do but step away and allow her to find happiness without him? Meanwhile, Penelope has burned so many times, and she has decided she's had enough. It's time to rise from the ashes and become the person she's always wanted to be, perhaps even earn the forgiveness of those she loves in the process. But are her mistakes too great to overcome? I don't remember how many chapters I initially planned, but it ended up being 40! This is the longest and most intricate story I've ever come up with and written, and I'm incredibly proud of myself.
