⚠️ Trigger Warning This story contains things that may be triggering for some, including: Self-harm Suicidal ideations Grief Mentions of trauma and self harm scars Mental health struggles toxic family dynamics this story also includes m-preg 🤭 When Phuwin agrees to a marriage of convenience Pond Naravit, he knows exactly what he's trading: two years of his life, a child to secure the lineage, and the fragile promise that his parents would finally stop resenting him. What he doesn't expect is a husband who despises him, a girlfriend who refuses to leave the picture, and the suffocating weight of secrets that can't stay buried forever. To Pond, Phuwin is just a name on a contract necessary, replaceable, irrelevant. At least until the cracks begin to show. Until scars are revealed. Until irritation turns to guilt... And guilt becomes something far more dangerous.

"Thirty is coming. So is the question they never answered. One promise. One year. One chance to choose." At twenty-two, it was supposed to be a joke. A half-laugh, a careless promise made on an ordinary night: If we're still single at thirty, we'll try. No rules. No pressure. No expectations. They never spoke of it again. Seven years later, Pond and Phuwin are adults in every way that matters-steady jobs, separate lives, carefully built routines. They are still best friends. Still each other's constant. Still the first person the other thinks of, even when they pretend not to. When circumstances force them back into the same space, old familiarity turns dangerous. Shared mornings feel too intimate. Soft touches linger too long. Conversations circle around everything they refuse to name. And somewhere between now and thirty, the promise resurfaces-not as a joke, but as a question neither of them knows how to answer. Because this isn't about falling in love. It's about admitting they already did-and deciding whether they're brave enough to risk the one thing they've never lost. Set in the quiet tension of adulthood, Somewhere Before Forever is a slow-burn friends-to-lovers story about timing, restraint, and the kind of love that waits patiently... until it can't anymore.

Pond Naravit is broke enough to answer a suspiciously vague job listing titled: "Private Companion Needed for Social Events." The pay is ridiculous. The expectations seem simple. Pretend to be someone's boyfriend. Attend fancy dinners. Look convincing. What Pond does not expect is for the client to be Phuwin Tangsakyuen-rich, composed, and rumored to be the kind of person you really shouldn't annoy. Phuwin didn't expect Pond either. But somehow the chaotic university student who talks too much and smiles too easily ends up signing the contract anyway. It's temporary. Strictly professional. Just a public arrangement for appearances. There are rules. There are boundaries. And absolutely no emotional involvement. Unfortunately, Pond has never been very good at following rules.

IT'S A PHUWINPOND STORY SO IF ANYONE ISN'T COMFORTABLE WITH THE IDEA PLEASE SKIP THIS ONE! ALSO, IT'S GOING TO BE A LITTLE MORE SMUTTIER THAN MY USUAL WORKS! HOPE YOU LIKE IT ENJOY!!! <3 Pond has always been the kind of boy people orbit without thinking. Third year on campus, his reputation walks ahead of him - reckless charm, easy dominance, a confidence so natural it almost feels like instinct. He wins dares, hearts, and attention without trying. Control is simply who he is. Phuwin is... harder to read. Quieter. Sharper. Unimpressed in ways that feel almost intentional. Where Pond is wildfire, Phuwin is gravity - subtle, steady, impossible to escape once you step too close. What begins as a careless late-night bet is supposed to be simple: prove a point, claim a victory, move on. But some games don't follow familiar rules. With every encounter that follows, something in Pond shifts in ways he can't explain, can't predict, and definitely can't admit. Pride turns restless. Curiosity turns consuming. And the version of himself he has always relied on starts to feel strangely... incomplete. As lines blur between competition and connection, both of them are pulled into a quiet emotional tug-of-war where winning no longer means what it used to. Because sometimes surrender isn't about losing control - it's about discovering where you truly belong. In a story of ego, tension, and the terrifying comfort of being understood, Pond will learn that not all falls are failures. Some are simply gravity calling you home.

Phuwin has spent the entire semester convinced that his next-door neighbour is the single most annoying person on the planet. Pond Naravit is rich, popular at university, and somehow always exactly where Phuwin doesn't want him to be, which would already be bad enough if Pond wasn't also perfectly skilled at getting on his nerves. What Phuwin doesn't know is that Pond has liked him for a long time. And instead of saying it out loud like a normal person, he does the worst possible thing, he teases, provokes, and annoys Phuwin and unfortunately, that works a little too well cause now Phuwin hates him. Completely. To the core, except when things start getting confusing, when the same person who drives him insane is also the one who keeps showing up when it matters. The one who notices things no one else does. And suddenly Phuwin isn't so sure anymore. Because the more he tries to convince himself that he hates Pond Naravit... The more he starts to wonder if he ever really did.

"Phuwin, you make me so mad I could scream... but then you smile and suddenly, I'd burn the whole world just to see you do it again. I hate how much I love you. It's stupid. It's reckless. It's us-and I wouldn't survive without it."
