Of course, some of their close friends suspect there's more to it than that, but the two meme guardians put up a good front, so there's really no way to determine that the two are anything more than that. But if that's the case, why all the lies? And the secrets? And the inside jokes? And the closed doors? Maybe they're finally bonding...because they would tell their friends if they were in a relationship together... Right?

After SMG4's guardian pod gets a virus, he is somehow transported to a reality where he and SMG3 are... dating?! That can't be right! They're ex-rivals! There is not a single reality where they are together!! Right? Inspired by an Erasermic fic I read a few years ago

When two new meme guardians appear in the Mushroom Kingdom with mysterious origins, SMG3 and SMG4 are tasked with mentoring and training them while SMG1 and SMG2 look into the creation of these strange newcomers. Meanwhile, SMG5 and SMG6 struggle to adjust to this new life, meeting new faces and overcoming struggle. Adventures ensue as the Meme Guardians not only try and figure out what the hell is going on, but learn more about things they thought they had already figured out long ago.
