Sora's past has returned. Shadow has been awakened by his creator, Gerald Robotnik. And now together, they plan to bring justice for Maria's name. Sora and his friends now face their most lethal enemies yet, to stop a cataclysmic event that will bring an end to the entire world. But a question stands: Does Sora have what it takes to fight his own family?

A month has gone by since the defeat of Robotnik, And Sora and his friends have now been living their lives with the Wachowski's without any more problems. Well, all except one, Knuckles. He's been having trouble understanding how to live without worrying about battles. And so, Sora now has to take it upon himself, and with the help from Wade, who is being trained by Knuckles, to understand what it means to have a home. But just like always, trouble comes after them.

Eggman has returned to Earth with a new ally in search for the ultimate power. And now, both Sora and Sonic must find it before they do, with the help of a new ally of their own. But unknown to both teams, a supposed enemy from Sora's past plans to capture the two hedgehogs.
