"I only ever feel alive with her weight in my arms and she only ever breathes when drugs fill her veins."
For as long as she can remember, Raven has only ever belonged to herself. Neglectful parents, fake friends and many bullies. To deal with the fact that pain never seems to fade away, she found comfort in all sorts of drugs and fell deeply into it really quickly. They made her feel like she was never alone. After all, they're the only things that can quiet down her mind and destroy her inner wounds.
When a blue haired girl walks into her life, Raven feels like a shadow. Billie is everything she isn't: stable, popular, smart and most of all, happy. Raven is a nightmare and Billie is absolutely perfect.
Raven tries to ignore her feelings for Billie, pushing her away again and again. Lies, violence, disappearances... She always runs back to drugs to cope with the danger of falling for someone. Drugs can't betray her, but people can always leave.
But Billie never leaves. She falls hard for Raven as her light begins to dim while she gets pulled into Raven's darkness. Loving Raven isn't gentle. It's destructive and addictive. Despite the danger, Billie can't leave, deeply obsessed.
Raven chases numbness. Billie chases the despair of loving her.
When Raven finally stops running away, it might be too late.
