After Alvin injures Dave, he ends up with him staying in the hospital and enrolling the chipmunks at school. At school, they meet the chipettes, a female rival band. After finding out their managed by Ian hawke the chipmunks ex manager. This ends up with the Chipmunks and Chipettes having to compete for a place in a musical contest at the school.
